Inside the garage, the floors are also wet, but not from the rain. Like the Tiber, they foam with much blood. I will not give away the details, but what we have just filmed is "the money shot"; it has taken much preparation and planning, but now it is coming together piece by piece. Every cast member was there to see the first shots, but now only we hardy few remain to finish everything off, our white aprons spattered with blood making us all look like malicious butchers. Will Clint sanction a lie-in for we "talent" who are still beavering away? I doubt it.
The word "talent" is used solely to denote us actors amongst the cast and crew, and whilst complimentary, I feel it under values the skills of those behind the camera. It takes a talented eye to know the perfect angle for a shot, it takes a talented pair of hands to make a body so realistic that onlookers share the pain inflicted upon it, it takes talent to cook up nutritious, filling and tasty meals, often from scratch, for an eager cast and crew, it takes a talented mind to come up with a storyline that means watching the Wizard of Oz will never be quite the same again, and it takes some very talented people to put together a cast and crew of eager volunteers and schedule, film and review whilst forgoing sleep for a week to turn out a full-length feature horror movie; one thing I hope I have gathered with all the Behind-The-Scenes footage I have shot is that the actors have the easiest job out here.
Whilst mentioning talent, I must make special mention of Sarah; not only is she the biggest multi-tasker on the crew, but she put in such a performance in a scene that even the cameraman, who is totally focussed on the shot and never what the actors are doing, became engrossed with her performance; if nothing else on this movie goes right, it will be worth seeing purely for that one scene. But given the scene we are doing right now, I don't think we will have to rely on Sarah's talents alone.
I will present more later, but if you will please excuse me, I'm going to HANG around some more....
