Hi readers!
Here we are at the end of Summer vacation...
So sad, especially since summer weather is finally starting to appear!
That is good news for us since we head out to morrow to Hays to finish a few more scenes for our upcoming feature "The Harvestman".
Learning about producing as you go is pretty intense, but well worth every minute of it. It's really inspiring to work with a group of talented people, who all share a sense of enthusiasm towards making movies.
It's not easy work, it rarely pays at our level, and its tortuous!!! Bad weather, no sleep, no time to do anything but make the movie, no pay...So why? Why make movies?
For me, when I see what happens after "Action" is called; the sense of wonder, the awe in by-standers, the focus and determination in the crew, it all blows my mind. When "Cut" stops the rolling of the cameras, the silence of all on set, and opens up for conversation, it is as if everyone is caught up in the excitement of being "there", charged with the anticipation of post production.
Well, this being said, I must go now, for there is always work to be done!
Cheers,
Sarah Christensen
